I wanted to create this blog because I love art. I have always loved art, no matter the medium nor context; art has been the only consistent thing that I have felt passion for. This blog is partially to spew the random thoughts and opinions I have about the art I love, but it is also a way for me to get more comfortable with putting my ideas out there. We often limit ourselves more than anyone else does, and I feel that I have limited myself in my own creation of art. So, this is an exercise for me. Maybe if I write about it enough, I’ll pick up a pencil and actually create. It might seem easy, but for me, realizing that art is a viable way to create and provide for myself in the future is something that is hard to believe. Art is both celebrated and discouraged by our society; unless you are the best at what you do, it’s hard to make a living. My rigid mind has kept me from pursuing my passions, and I want to change that. As much as this is for everyone else to read and enjoy, it’s mostly for me: to make sense of my jumbled thoughts about the art and artists I adore and admire, as well as push myself to create. 🙂
